Fall 2017 Advanced Civil Mediation Training for Roster Mediators

If you are on the roster for the Court’s Rule 1:40 civil presumptive mediation program, do you know how to:

  • Minimize the chances of impasse and quickly build rapport with the parties by holding an effective organizational conference call?
  • Get reluctant parties into the mediation process without the Court’s intervention?
  • Manage effective information exchange between the parties?
  • Follow all the Court Rules regarding what time is billable and what is not?
  • Look up your assigned case information on the internet via ACMS?
  • Make court-mandated disclosures to the parties?
  • Handle adjournment requests?
  • Follow up with the parties even if the mediation was unsuccessful?
  • Get paid for your efforts?
  • Effectively process a case from beginning to end?
  • Use your court-referred mediations to secure more mediation business?

This civil case management training will help roster mediators process a referred mediation case efficiently and without assistance from the Court.  Per R1:40-12(b)(2), case management training is a component of the continuing education requirements to remain on the Court roster.  If you are on the Court roster, this is a “must attend” course for you.
